An entrepreneur and business leader, Christopher “Chris” Carlson began working with Digital Trends Media Group in 2018 as its COO. Over the course of four years, Chris Carlson helped Digital Trends Media Group expand from a single-site electronics publisher to a leading independent media company for product reviews. Before leaving the company in 2022, He helped the company launch eight sites and establish two new revenue lines, doubling its revenue. He oversaw more than 120 employees across the company’s operations, while maintaining low costs and sustainable staffing growth.
Today, Christopher Carlson is the executive-in-residence at Progress Partners. In this role, he advises others with transactions involving media, advertising, and technology. Throughout his career, he has served in several advisory positions and supported startups and entrepreneurs from underserved communities. He has served in an advisory role for InVivi Biosystems, Inc., RAIN, Fertilab, and Candid Wholesale, among others.
Mr. Carlson's professional interests extend to finance, health care, biotech, the creator/influencer economy, digital commerce, and consumer subscription across media and publishing. He has also published articles on structuring a business, components of commerce revenue, and driving growth in an unpredictable market for reputable publications.
